This American Cherry (Prunes Serotina) Bowl is finished in Chestnut Products food-safe Microcrystalline Wax.

American Cherry or (Black) heartwood is a light pinkish brown when freshly cut, darkening to a medium reddish brown with time and upon exposure to light.

It is not currently on either of the endangered/conservation lists.
