Ebony over Ash with Swirls.

Inspired by @thetartanturner and their use of @chestnutproducts ebonizing lacquer, iridescent paints and cling film I turned this form as a learning experience. The technique reminds me of the marbling onto paper that my mum use to do and most of my school books got covered in!

On my first attempt I didn’t swirl the cling film wrap enough and was left with some unsatisfactory brush blobs. Given it always was an experiment I threw caution to the wind and tried wiping it off which left the colours in the softer grain of the wood. This in its own right might be an affect worth trying another day. The second overlay went better in some aspects but as the paint had started to dry it also went less well.

But in summary it results in a pleasing affect.
