Solid and well-made of an underrated native wood, exhibiting a particularly attractive grain pattern. Overall, this bowl is beautiful in its simplicity. Highly recommended.

This simple bowl in Wedge was finished in … Wedge is the ‘chocolate’ wood of turning although it comes with a sting in its tail – a splinter can go septic within hours. The heartwood is medium brown, sometimes with a reddish or yellowish hue, with nearly black streaks.
Wenge (Millettia Laurentil) from Central Africa appears on the IUCN red list due to a 50% reduction in its native area over the last three decades. It does not appear in the CITES appendix.
